Charter schools challenge standard educational practices and offer innovative opportunities for student learning and achievement. They are independently governed and free standing, offering parents and students choices outside the traditional school system. Most feature small class sizes, technology-based curriculums and hands on learning. Some cater to special populations, such as gifted, at-risk or students with disabilities. Montessori, Arts, Science and the International Baccalaureate Program are among the many curriculum choices available in Brevard’s charter schools.
