Brevard Community College Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
The Small Business Development Center, located on Brevard Community College’s Melbourne Campus, offers free counseling to help start or expand a small business. It offers seminars on business planning and loan packaging, assistance in writing a strong business plan to help with financing, and libraries containing instructional books. In addition, SBDC clients have access to the Internet and business software library. Brevard Community College SBDC is a member of the Florida Small Business Development Center Network, a partnership program with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Founders Forum
Founders Forum is a non-profit organization dedicated to the needs of entrepreneurs within the community. Its primary focus is to provide a face-to-face forum where new businesses can network with funding sources and potential investors can learn of new businesses. Founders Forum meetings offer attendees opportunities to develop business relationships, network with community industry leaders and access potential business and financing partners. The mission of Founders Forum is to serve the community by fostering the success of new and existing businesses, creating an environment where entrepreneurs are motivated, educated and encouraged to exchange ideas and information vital to business growth.
Florida Virtual Entrepreneur Center
The Florida Virtual Entrepreneur Center is a web portal designed to provide a robust and easy-to-use tool for new and existing businesses looking for information and resources to grow their business. Funded by a grant from the Florida High Tech Corridor, this site is designed to easily locate local, regional, state and global resources for starting, relocating or expanding a business.
Women's Business Center (WBC)
The Women’s Business Center (WBC), located at Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), offers small business assistance targeting women entrepreneurs and women-owned small businesses in Brevard, Indian River, and St. Lucie Counties. It is built on the philosophy of the ‘power of four’ to ensure success and empower women: the right place, people, partners and products. With the expertise of FIT’s College of Business faculty and community volunteers, WBC provides training, counseling, conferences, mentoring and technical assistance in addition to networking opportunities. The Women's Business Center is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration and is an outreach of the College of Business at Florida Tech. Partners of the Center include community organizations and government agencies.
