Brevard Workforce Development Board, Inc. (BWDB)
Brevard Workforce Development Board is a resource for your business to locate qualified employees in the area, as it administers workforce development programs throughout the County. As a funding, policy and oversight agency, BWDB focuses on improving the quality of the Brevard County workforce, reducing welfare dependency, and enhancing workforce productivity and competitiveness.
The goals of the BWDB are accomplished through the collective work of three committees, and each one is charged with a specific vision to accomplish BWDB’s overall objectives. The First Jobs/First Wages committee targets factors that will make the workplace a “learning place.” The Better Jobs/Better Wages committee aims to make work more profitable. Finally, the High Skills/High Wages committee focuses on maintaining a competitive workforce in Brevard County. Funding for programs to achieve these goals is obtained through the Federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA), the Workforce Innovation Act, and Welfare Transition.
